Congratulations! The community of St. Michael Parish welcomes and joins with you, as parents, in celebrating the upcoming Sacrament of Baptism of your child! Through the Sacrament of Baptism, your child becomes a part of the Body of Christ, the Catholic Church, and a member of the community of St. Michael - an occasion that truly calls for joy and celebration!
The sacrament of Baptism is usually celebrated on the fourth Sunday of the month, at a group baptism ceremony at 1:00 p.m. At the request of the parents, Baptisms may also be celebrated at Mass by making special arrangements with the pastor.
Parents who are celebrating the sacrament of Baptism for the first time are required to attend a preparation session, which is usually held on the third Sunday of the month at 7:00 p.m. The preparation session gives parents the opportunity to consider the meaning of their own faith, the Church's understanding of Baptism, the elements of the Rite of Baptism, and the responsibilities of raising their child in the Catholic faith.
Please contact Tom Giordano, D.Min., Pastoral Associate for Pastoral Ministry and Care, during the last three months of pregnancy. Tom can be reached at 563-6377 ext. 302, or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Adults considering membership in the Catholic Church are asked to contact Tom Giordano, Pastoral Associate for Pastoral Ministry and Care.
Baptisms of school-aged children or teens are arranged through Lori Anne Fothergill, the Youth Faith Formation Minister.
